John Cobb

CAREER SUMMARY & EXPERIENCE
John primarily functions as a Buyer and Tenant Representative, where he protects the interests of medical organizations and technology-related companies. As secondary functions, he represents a limited number of property owners and investors with sales and leasing services and represents investors in their acquisition activities. This multi-disciplinary approach allows John to provide solid advisement irrespective of client intent and to leverage his specialized knowledge across the various areas his clients’ businesses frequently touch. 

Prior to joining Grubb & Ellis (which merged to become Newmark Grubb Knight Frank in 2012), John was affiliated with Lynx Real Estate and its Healthcare Real Estate Advisors (HREA) division. During his tenure with HREA and Lynx, he represented medical practice groups, technology-related companies, property owners and investors in transactions ranging from a few thousand to over 40,000 square feet.

SPECIALTIES
As a degreed engineer, John applies a thorough, systematic approach to all client matters. Be it a marketing strategy, lease restructuring versus relocation decision, a buy-versus-lease analysis, a Net Present Value comparison, or a disposition strategy, John’s clients benefit from fact-based analysis accompanied by sound reasoning and data.

EXPERIENCE
Prior to his association with HREA, John spent 3 years as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for a privately-held technology sales and installation company, where he was responsible for sales team development and production and all company marketing activities. Prior to that, he was with BellSouth for over 10 years, where he served in BellSouth Mobility’s Operations Engineering group for five years, followed by five years in BellSouth’s Large Business Sales division. In the BellSouth sales organization, John’s final assignment was that of National Account Manager, where he spent served all divisions of Time Warner for 3 years.  Prior to BellSouth, John was a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with an device manufacturer.

PERSONAL
John is a native of Sandy Springs, Georgia. Married since 1991, he resides in Lilburn with his wife, and two children. The Cobbs are active members of a growing church and are engaged in all manner of family activities, including youth leadership,various sports and fitness activities, and camping.
